Lego Insomnia

I put the kids to bed around 7:30 tonight. At 9 Jake came downstairs. It was obvious he hadn't fallen sleep yet. I asked him what he was doing...

Jake: I just can't fall asleep. I keep thinking about Holt's Legos and how I'm going to play with them in the morning. (Jake and his friend Holt trade Lego creations weekly. I'm loving this much cheaper way for Jake to play with more Legos.)
Me: I understand it's hard to fall asleep sometimes. How can I help you?
Jake: Tell me something silly so I can laugh it out.
Me: I said something about a transformer turning into a saw and cutting off his feet so he had to jump instead of walk. (I'm not sure that even makes sense but it is all I could come up with when I was practically asleep on the couch).
Jake: Thanks.

Then he went upstairs. In reality, I do not understand how people can't fall asleep. I could be asleep by 9:30 every night if it were not for Rett staying up later to finish whatever sport is on. A lot of the time I fall asleep on the couch and he wakes me up when it's time to go upstairs. Maybe it is because I'm not deep enough to stress/think about things before bed...or ever...Jake is already a deeper thinker than I am...
