Killer Bug Ends My Night

So, Rett left for Montana this morning at like 4. We said our goodbyes last night. I mean, I love him and all but I'm not about to wake up at 4 just to be woken up by my kids as soon as I fall back asleep. He just called to tell me a DJ from KSBJ the christian station in Houston is on the trip with them. Seriously, we are surrounded by famous people. I don't understand why we are not famous. In reality, the thought of being famous is enough to make my heart stop and just die. I can't talk to a group of 3 or more people without my face turning red. You might as well ask me to cure cancer when asking me to talk in front of people. That is how likely it is to happen. So yeah, I'm much better at leading an anonymous, behind the scene life. Rett on the other hand would be a wonderful famous person. Everyone knows him and I am 'Rett's wife' which is 100% fine with me.

Normally, I don't leave my house after nap time (1ish). We live in the middle of town and rush hour starts around 3. Since Rett is out and I don't need to be home to cook we actually left the house at 4:30 to go to the library. Yeah, never again. Tomorrow we will just go swimming after naps like every other day this summer.

One of my high school/college friends lives in Midland. In case you don't know it is way far. Well, she is in East Bernard with her parents this week and a few of us met for lunch in Richmond. Let me tell you how much fun it was to run into people I know from EB. I was standing outside the restroom waiting for Jake (because I'm still trying to figure out how to send a boy to the restroom in a public place) when someone says my name. This never happens in Houston. I mean, I have friends and all but Houston is big and I don't just run into people. Maybe because I don't leave my house after lunch...Turns out it was my Great Aunt and her daughter. Was a nice change of pace and made me rethink our lives in the middle of the 4th largest city plan. But that all changed when it took me 30 minutes to get to our neighborhood that includes the Galleria. Yeah, having that 5 minutes away is enough to keep me here until death. I actually have a picture of our lunch group (including the 4 crazy kids) but it is downstairs on my phone and there was a bug flying around the living room so I grabbed my computer and ran upstairs leaving the lamp on and phone on the floor. Guess I will have to watch the Hatmaker makeover tomorrow. Thank God for DVR...not bugs.
